By identifying your specific needs and goals, she develops a personalized program, utilizing the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, to help you achieve the outcome you desire.


Stephanie administered specialized body conditioning sessions within medical environments, working under chiropractors, physical therapists and alongside medical massage professionals.

In commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate care, Gyrotonic® Durango has partnered with Dr. Megan ( Soma ) Lewis, to make medically supervised sessions available when needed.

GYROTONIC® DURANGO

A licensed studio of the Gyrotonic Expansion System® A unique, holistic approach to movement.

This system fits the needs of all ages and abilities from elderly patients recovering from injury, to highly skilled professional athletes.


It is comprised of two specific methods of practice-


The Gyrotonic® Method, which is performed on custom-designed equipment, and the Gyrokinesis® Method, which is performed on a mat and chair.


Benefits of a regular practice of this system include a healthier, more supple spine, increased range of motion, greater joint stability, improved agility, athletic performance and a deep internal strength.

The GYROTONIC® Method

The Gyrotonic Method utilizes specialized equipment to guide, assist and challenge the exerciser. This equipment was built around the human body with all regards to total freedom in movement and no restriction to speed and versatility. This method enhances the awareness of coordination, strength and flexibility.

Gyrotonic exercises are adapted to fit anyone’s ability, from those recovering from injury or living with a disability to elite athletes.

The GYROKINESIS® Method

The most traditional and beneficial way to begin a Gyrotonic session is to warm up with Gyrokinesis.


This 20 minute private session awakens one's entire system through the seven natural elements of spinal movement. The accompanying breath work stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system resulting in a sense of well-being and mental clarity.


This highly recommended add-on integrates the foundational forms of the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM and expedites the healing process.

Body Conditioning

This tailored routine is designed to help an individual improve movement, regain function, manage pain and recover from injury. It includes:

• Guided pelvic and trunk stabilizing exercises for greater movement quality and balance.
• Assisted stretching for improved flexibility and circulation.
• Supported mobility exercises for increased range of motion and flexibility of the joints.

This private session takes place in ultimate comfort, elevated on a physical therapy table (weight capacity up to 450 lbs.)

This tailored routine helps an individual rehabilitate, improve flexibility and strength, reduce inflammation, tension and pain. It includes:

• Being professionally assisted through a series of guided stretches, carefully positioning and supporting your limbs, holding your body in specific positions, applying gentle pressure, encouraging breathe control and often using specialized techniques like Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation.

This private session takes place in ultimate comfort, elevated on a physical therapy table (weight capacity up to 450 lbs.)

Group Classes
are kept small to ensure all participants receive attention and instruction

Gyrokinesis® Method

The Gyrokinesis Method works the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward and backward, left and right side, left and right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation.

This method systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating exercises. Movement stimulates the body’s internal organs and different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated.

It is practiced on a mat and chair without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.

Pelvic Stability

Strengthening deep core muscles improves posture, reduces back pain, and improves overall athletic performance.

This class incorporates Pre-Pilates exercises and Yoga to target the muscles surrounding the hips, sacrum and coccyx, bringing greater strength to your deep core.

Classical Mat Pilates

Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects the posture, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit. It is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace and skill that will reflect in the way you walk, play and work.

This class includes pre-pilates diagnostic exercises to help the student identify where weakness is in their body. These exercises are then suggested as homework.
